Kevin McQuiggin, Inspector

Inspector Kevin McQuiggin is in charge of the Forensic Services Section in the Vancouver Police Department. He holds a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Mathematics from Simon Fraser University and a Master's degree in Communication, also from SFU.

In 1995 at the Coordinated Law Enforcement Unit (CLEU) he created the first "Internet Investigation Unit" in British Columbia and completed research papers for the provincial and the federal governments on the impact of technological crime upon policing in Canada.

Inspector McQuiggin co-chaired the national policing IT Sub-Committee from 2003-2005 and is a member of the National Police Services committee with senior members of the RCMP and municipal police forces from across Canada. He created the computer component of the Forensic Science Technology diploma program at BCIT and instructed in that program for several years. He remains a frequent speaker on societal impact of technology in the computing science and communications programs at SFU.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Pacific Flying Club, a commercial pilot, and a piper in a world-class competition pipe band.
